BDC Values
Mutual Respect
A foundational value that fosters an environment of inclusivity, understanding, and appreciation for the perspectives and experiences of others. It encourages active listening, kindness, and constructive dialogue, creating a safe and supportive atmosphere where every individual feels valued and empowered to contribute. Through mutual respect, we build trust, collaboration, and a shared sense of community.
Service
A value that emphasises the importance of selflessness, empathy, and a commitment to making a positive impact on the community. It encourages individuals to contribute their time, skills, and resources to support others, both within and beyond the school environment. Through service, we cultivate a spirit of generosity, responsibility, and collective wellbeing, empowering students to become active, compassionate citizens who make a difference.
Inclusivity
A principle that champions diversity and ensures every individual feels welcomed, valued, and supported, regardless of background, identity, or ability. It promotes an environment where differences are celebrated, and all voices are heard. Inclusivity fosters a culture of equity, where everyone has equal opportunities to thrive, learn, and contribute.
Integrity
A value that emphasises honesty, accountability, and consistency in actions, words, and decisions. It encourages individuals to uphold strong moral principles, even when faced with challenges or difficult choices. Integrity builds trust and credibility, fostering a culture where individuals are responsible for their actions and are committed to doing what is right, not just what is easy.
Courage
A value that empowers individuals to face challenges, take risks, and stand up for what is right. Courage fosters resilience, perseverance, and a willingness. Through courage, we create a community where fear does not hinder progress, and bravery is celebrated as a path to greater opportunity and success.
Justice
A value that upholds fairness, equality, and the protection of rights for all individuals. It calls for the pursuit of truth, the challenge of unfairness, and the active promotion of equity in every aspect of life. Justice encourages accountability, ensuring that everyone is treated with dignity and respect, and that systems are held to standards of fairness.
Generosity of Spirit
A value that encourages an open heart, selflessness, and a willingness to give without expecting anything in return. It embodies kindness, empathy, and the desire to uplift others through both actions and words. Generosity of spirit is about offering time, understanding, and support to those in need, while also fostering a sense of warmth and belonging within the community.
BDC Strategic Plan Ngaalgan
2018-2025
It is with great pleasure that we present the Bishop Druitt College Strategic Plan.
This document builds on previous strategic plans to ensure relevance and continuity. There has been a careful analysis of educational research with a focus on local and global trends in education. The College Council has sought feedback from the wider college community using a co-design philosophy that featured significant input from our key educational stakeholders including staff, students, parents and alumni. This co-design process incorporated surveys, interviews, focus groups, workshops, a parent drop-in centre and planning retreats that occurred over a seven month period.
The Bishop Druitt College Council wishes to thank all parties for their inspiration.
The plan is supported by clear and measurable goals, and the College Leadership Team and College Council will monitor progress against these goals. Through the provision of visionary leadership and sustainable financial governance, the College Council is ensuring the long-term success of Bishop Druitt College.
On behalf of the College Council, we commend to you the Bishop Druitt College Strategic Plan 2018 - 2025.
